Miss Clinton County Scholarship Program

The 2017 pageant will be held on Saturday July 22rd.  Anyone interested in competing in July 2017 should contact the Miss Clinton County Board at missclintoncounty@live.comCompetition Guidelines (below) are subject to change. 

Miss Clinton County

Miss Clinton County Contestants must:
  • Be between the ages of 17 (Senior in High School) and 23 as of June 1, 2017
  • Live, work or attend school in Iowa
  • Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization
  • Be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as Miss Clinton County, including being able to compete in Miss Iowa Pageant in June, 2018

Miss Clinton County Areas of Competition:

  • Private Interview: 25%
  • On-Stage Question: 5%
  • Talent: 35%
  • Evening Wear: 20%
  • Lifestyle & Fitness in Swimsuit: 15%

Each Miss Clinton County contestants must also select a platform that has relevance to her community or society, but is also an issue she cares deeply about.  She will compose a one-page essay about the issue, why she selected it, how she has been involved in making an impact, and how she plans to continue doing so to make in impact in her community.

Miss Clinton County's Outstanding Teen

Miss Clinton County's Outstanding Teen Contestants must:

  • Be between the ages of 12 and 16 years old and no more than junior in High School by June 1, 2017 (Please send an email with your birth date and school year to missclintoncounty@live.com to determine eligibility)
  • Live, work or attend school in Iowa
  • Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization
  • Be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as Miss Clinton County's Outstanding Teen, including being able to compete in Miss Iowa's Outstanding Teen Pageant in June, 2018

Miss Clinton County's Outstanding Teen Areas of Competition:

  • Private Interview:  30%
  • Physical Fitness is Sportswear:  10%
  • Talent (90 second maximum):  35%
  • Evening Wear & On-Stage Question: 25%      


Outstanding Teen contestants will submit a report card for 7th & 8th graders or a sealed transcript for high school students.This information along with contestant's resume will be evaluated by an independent educator.

Each Teen contestant must also select a platform that has relevance to her community or society, but is also an issue she cares deeply about.  She will compose a one-page essay about the issue, why she selected it, how she has been involved in making an impact, and how she plans to continue doing so to make in impact in her community.
